By the Sea....

The gentle breeze.
Let's him see.
Her gentle face.
But that's not the case.
Today is much better.
He sees her standing there.

& in his presence she stands.
He reaches and gentley holds her hand.
How can such a love be?
When there's nothing to feel or see.
Love like that is how he holds the key.
To spend an eternity.
With her.
By the sea.

Some question him...demanding to know.
Why he's always on high & never on low.
He simply says...

Her soft voice is carried on the winds.
It's her dreams and kisses she sends.
It's her touch that makes my heart patch.
With powerful waves that crash.
It's the sand that tastes like salt.
Letting me know it wasn't my fault.
The tide rolls in.
& with it she sends.
Her heart.

Summer fades into winter.
He lets her know how much he misses her.
With every prayer he prays.
She never seems to fade.
It's like her soul never died.
That it rolls in on the tide.

Her soft voice is carried on the winds.
It's her dreams and kisses she sends.
It's her touch that makes his heart patch.
With powerful waves that crash.
It's the sand that tastes like salt.
Letting him know it wasn't his fault.
The tide rolls in.
& with it she sends.
Her heart.

Years have gone by.
Since that day that she died.
& he never asks why.
Because he already knows.
Where shes gone.
To somewhere she belongs.
& he'll visit her at dawn.
& sing for her this song.

Your soft voice is carried on the winds.
It's your dreams and kisses that you send.
It's your touch that makes my heart patch.
With powerful waves that crash.
It's the sand that tastes like salt.
Letting me know it wasn't my fault.
The tide rolls in.
& with it you send.
Your heart.

The gentle breeze.
Let's him see.
Her gentle face.
Fading away into...
The sea.
